Geric's official diagnoses is a friction burn with a laceration/open wound. The plastic surgeon looked at his foot today. Geric will be going to the OR tomorrow and have anesthesia so they can really scrub and clean the wound really good. He also mentioned why he is waiting and being patient on his foot. Because the foot is a mobile part of the body, he is trying to avoid a skin graph. If it was somewhere else where there isn't much movement, he would already have done a skin graph and if I understood right, close the wound. The reason he is being patient with it is because he is hoping that there is some live skin under the dead skin. Doing a skin graph may cause Geric to loose some of his mobility in his foot and that is why we are trying to avoid the skin graph. Because he will be put under, he will for sure be in the hospital for the next two days. We may know more tomorrow after they do a good cleaning and get more of the dead skin off his foot when he might get to come home.
My boys:
We tried eating breakfast as a family outside by the cafeteria. It did not work so well with Geric. He was a little stinker. I think he does better on the routine Daddy has him on.
Geric watching the waterfall they have outside by the cafeteria.
I tried to get some good pics of Geric's sponge bath but he did not want to sit still. He was crawling all over the bed while Daddy was trying to wash him up.
Geric dried himself with the towel and now he is handing to Daddy because he is done
One of his favorite toys they have in the play room (I think he likes to push buttons):
Wow!! The boys are actually playing with Toys!! Oh, wait, I think it is because someone else is playing video games.
Xzander asleep in his mobile crib :o)
Hangin' with Mom, eating lunch and watching Lion King. Oh, this is the life!
Pics of leg and foot:
You see in the first pic how it is more white, and in the second pic, there is more red? We want the red. That little blood spot is a good sign and there is some more red there on the top of his foot sort of by the laceration.
Good sign in the above pic. We're hoping this will happen where it is white.
See the red next to his wound? We were also told that as it heals, my poor boy will experience more pain. Right now he doesn't feel all of it because the skin is dead.
Hangin' out with Little Bro:
The kids did not want to leave so Devan told them if they could do a hundred push ups, they could stay. David did I think it was 35 push ups, so the other two had to do about 32 to make a hundred. Ruby didn't even try. Devan tried and got mad because he said he isn't good at push ups.
David doing push-ups.
