Xzander's 2nd Birthday Celebration: March 12, 2012

We had to celebrate Xzander's birthday later.  I think part of the reason was Devan was out of town.

Geric's Asthma Scare

Late night on March 10, 2012 Geric was struggling to breath.  I took him to the ER  around ten that night and his oxygen level was at a 94.  I cannot remember how many breathing treatments they gave him.  Finally around one in the morning they admitted him over night to monitor him and make sure he improved and that there were no other complications.  Even though this was his one and only episode of an attack, they are calling it asthma.  He has spring time allergies and I believe it was allergy induced and that he does not have chronic asthma.  He was finally released from the hospital at noon they next day.  Here is him being a big boy and doing his breathing treatments at home.

Xzander's Birthday: March 5, 2012

Xzander is a sweet little boy, full of life.  He closely watches his siblings and sometimes follows what they do.  He is into EVERYTHING!!!  All those stories about two year olds throwing things in the toilet and what not, I really didn't believe it all that much because my first four didn't do those kind of things.  He DOES!!!!  He has an incredible charm and when he smiles, he just melts my heart.  He is an extremely affectionate child and I love it!  I love his tight squeezes and kisses.  Xzander is mostly Geric's shadow.  They love each other and will play well together at times.

Polar Bears: February 22, 2012

We had some warm days in February and the kids kept pestering us to let them go swimming.  We kept telling them it was too cold to go, but the pestering still continued so we finally gave in, thinking they wouldn't want to keep swimming, We were wrong.

Playing Ball: December 27, 2011

We got a really good deal on some high end baseball gloves so we bought a few.  Little Devan asked for baseball stuff for Christmas.  Dad and Devan were outside playing catch, but once again didn't take as many pictures as I should have.

Christmas 2011

We had a great Christmas this year.  Once again we were spoiled with generosity from others and are extremely grateful for those who helped us with the kids having an awesome Christmas, as Devan was still working part time at the jail.

Devan's 10th Birthday: December 14, 2011

I cannot believe I have a ten year old.  Devan is such a responsible boy.  I do not have to remind or get on him to do his homework.  When he understands what the rules are and what the consequences are, he does his very best to follow them.  He helps out with the little ones and when he wants to be, is a good little worker.  He loves to spend one on one time with Dad and Mom.  So far this school year he has received straight A's and it has been all on his own.  He loves to read, read, and read some more.
He has a strong will and I know that if he can learn to channel it and use it in positive ways, he will go far in life and become a leader some day.  At this time in life, he has a desire to become, in his words, a heart doctor.  He is a really smart kid.  We love him and are grateful to have him in our family.

We checked Devan out of school, took him out to lunch to Golden Corral for his birthday.  Then we took him shopping for his birthday presents.

What he picked out for his birthday.
Later that evening we had pie and ice cream.  Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures.

Random

I haven't blogged in awhile and am overwhelmed with all that I should have blogged so here I'll do three post in one that should have been blogged separately in hopes to catch up faster, so obviously they will not get the attention they deserve.  I intend to do better this year, we'll see what happens.

I'll start off with David's eighth birthday, a special birthday.  David was baptized September 24, 2011 by his father, Devan Sherman Bennett.  We are proud of David's decision to be baptized.  He is a sweet boy, and I do believe his spirit shines.  I even had one of David's teachers tell me David is a spiritual boy.  I might have said this before, but when David came into the world, he came in with such reverence.

First day of school year of 2011-2012, Devan- Fourth grade, David- third grade, and Ruby- Second grade:

Ruby turned seven last year.  She can be as sassy as can be, but is a sweetheart.  She is actually a well behaved child.  She hates to get into trouble and usually does as she is told.  Everyone who meets her, adores her.  We love our little princess.

July 18, 2011: Easy Bake

After much patience on Ruby's part, I finally let her explore and make her easy bake stuff that she had gotten the previous Christmas.

I hope she gains a love for cooking and does not inherit my cooking abilities.
